Cung Le once again put on a fantastic San Shou and Muay Thai
event in San Jose on Saturday night. Fight and Fitness had
two of our fighters compete and they both did very well.
FnF’s fighter Gem Mil Langit started out the night with
an exciting bout against Vishnu Gulati of Team U.S.A.. The
first round started off slowly with each fighter sizing each
other up. Vishnu and Gem Mil appeared to have a mutual respect
of each other and the first round ended in the clinch with
both competitors delivering an array of knee strikes.
In the second round, Vishnu was able to catch Gem Mil’s
leg and sweep him twice—causing some frustration to
Gem Mil’s game plan. Gem Mil was able to land a few
hard left kicks, while Vishnu delivered some clean punches.
The last round was more action packed as both fighters struggled
to get the win. The fight again ended in the clinch and the
knees continued through the bell. In the end the decision
went to Vishnu of Team U.S.A.. Congratulations to both of
these fighters.
Ray Juachon of Fight and Fitness was the next fighter of the
night. Ray also was up against one of Team U.S.A.’s
gladiators, Chris Hom. This fight started action packed as
both fighters put the pressure on with quick hands followed
by hard kicks. Ray slipped many of Chris’ techniques
and countered with some hard, clean shots. In the second round,
Chris was able to deliver a clean foot jab to Ray’s
face. This appeared to make Ray more aggressive and he finished
the round strongly by landing many right leg kicks that seemed
to slow Chris down. The third round was also exciting. Ray
continued to land hard punches and leg kicks while they both
landed some nice knees in the clinch. The decision ended in
Ray’s favor and a win to Fight and Fitness. Congratulations
to both Ray and Chris for a fine demonstration of muay thai
skills.
Fight and Fitness would like to once again send our gratitude
to Cung Le for scheduling our fighters at his event. It was
a fun night and many FnF students were in attendance. Thanks
to all the people who cheered our guys on—it definitely
means a lot to us that our student body is so supportive of
those getting in the ring. For more results of Born to Fight—go
