FnF participates in Portrero Boxing Club Smoker

On Saturday, August 27 Fight and Fitness, brought many fighters to support Portrero Boxing Club’s premiere smoker. It was a fun day and a lot of students came over to support the team. Dr. Happy Reynolds was in charge of the event and did a great job. Commentators James Cook and Dewitt were hilarious and added a unique touch to the day. Our own, Chris Cariaso was the D.J.

Doreen Wong fought a heavier, more experienced boxer from 3rd St. Gym. This fight was action packed and we were extremely proud of Doreen’s fierce style against this taller opponent. She never backed down and threw many affective combinations.

Rob Mercado fought extremely well against an opponent from Buhawe Martial Arts. Rob landed an endless amount of powerful right kicks and fought with fury! This was one of the best matches of the day and the crowd was going wild. Rob’s opponent was tough and both were exciting to watch.

Steve Lee fought against a Team U.S.A. fighter and came out hard in the first round. Steve landed some great foot jabs and some hard right kicks to the leg. His opponent came back with a few high kicks and right hand shots. The fighter’s went back and forth with exciting exchanges. The fight ended after two rounds (due to Steve’s sheer exhaustion-more running next time, Steve) but was fun to watch nonetheless.

Our last fighter was Bubba Holland in the final match of the day. He gave up 30 pounds to fight a less experienced fighter from Omei Kung Fu. They were trading punches throughout the match and both guys performed well. All in all, Bubba seemed to dominate the action but his opponent was tough as well.

Thanks to Portrero Boxing Club for providing this free day of fights and entertainment. We had a great time and are so proud of everyone who fought so well for our team!
