World Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2008 - Results

Evan Esguerra and Chris Cariaso travelled to Cal State Long Beach this weekend to compete in the 2008 World Jiu Jitsu Championship tournament. It was a great learning experience and the perfect opportunity for these up and coming MMA fighters to test their ground games against the best jiu jitsu fighters in the world.

Evan competed in the white belt division. He won three matches then lost by points in the semifinals. He earned a 3rd place medal.

Chris competed in the blue belt division. He lost his first match by 2 points to a super tough opponent. Chris' opponent went on to win 6 more matches and placed 2nd in the world.

Chris and Evan plan on continuing training hard and using this experience to show both of them what they need to work on for Chris' upcoming fight.

Chris is getting ready for his second fight against Anthony Figueroa at Strikeforce. The event will be held at the HP Pavilion on Friday June 27th. Tickets are available at the front desk. Please come and show your support.
