Dream 4 Results

Darren Uyenoyama travelled to Yokohama, Japan this past weekend to take a last minute fight against a very tough, well respected fighter Hideo Tokoro. Darren had only 3 weeks to train for this fight, but it was an offer that Darren couldn't refuse. Darren trained very hard with muay thai coach, Fight and Fitness' Neungsiam Samphusri. Darren was given the opportunity to show off his skills on a worldwide stage and a guaranteed second fight in Japan for taking this fight on such short notice. Darren fought very well against a seasoned veteran.

Here is a write up from www.Sherdog.com:

Hideo Tokoro and Darren Uyenoyama put on the finest display of MMA that Dream has seen to date. They fought a back-and-forth match at breakneck speed. The two stood toe to toe multiple times during the fight and, at times, both looked to be on the brink of defeat before turning it around with a comeback. On the ground it was very much the same, with both fighters attempting everything from armbars and omoplatas to toeholds and kneebars without securing a finish.

The knees from Tokoro were the difference between the pair. He dropped Uyenoyama twice with a knee to the head and later to the body. A valiant effort from the inexperienced Uyenoyama wasn't enough, and Tokoro came away with the hard-fought unanimous decision.

We're very proud of Darren. We expect to see him in the gym soon, working on his Muay Thai and Boxing, after some well deserved time off.
